Deadline extended! Please submit by November 15, 2016.
There is a longstanding history of poetry responding to other mediums of art and vice versa. So, in the spirit of artistic community, we decided to open up another publication opportunity to encourage inspiring conversations that don’t include the name of any presidential candidates or your impending quarter life crisis.
Here’s the skinny: We want you to have a conversation with a piece of visual art, in this case, “Valise d’Adam” by Frederick Sommer, and write a poem about it! Respond, reframe, reflect, challenge, narrate—the opportunities are endless! Experimental work is welcome. Be innovative, ambitious, and bold—so go on, get Ekphrastic with your bad self.
Our Poetry editor, Meg E. Griffitts, will choose her favorite piece(s) for publication on our site.
